One thing I am certain that I will never go back to doing again is buying store-bought condiments. One, they just taste so much better when you make them at home. Two, I can’t believe how easy it is to make them. And three, perhaps the most obvious, they aren’t loaded up with tons of sugars and nasty additives. Condiments are some of the worst offenders on that front.
I swear had you told me 5 years ago that I’d be making up my own condiments I would have told you, “Girl, shut ‘yo mouth. I ain’t got time for that crazy hippie stuff!”. But alas, here I am preaching the good word that you NEED to make the switch. And I really swear, it’s easy!

paleo bbq sauce
A refined-sugar free barbecue sauce that tastes delicious and is super quick!
Servings: 4 -6
Ingredients
- 1 6 oz can of tomato paste
- 1 C. apple cider NO SUGAR ADDED
- 2 Tbsp. coconut sugar
- 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp. honey
- 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. coconut aminos
Instructions
- In a small saucepan combine all ingredients and stir to incorporate
- Simmer on low for 10 minutes (more if you'd like a deeper flavor)
