paleo bbq sauce

One thing I am certain that I will never go back to doing again is buying store-bought condiments. One, they just taste so much better when you make them at home. Two,  I can’t believe how easy it is to make them. And three, perhaps the most obvious, they aren’t loaded up with tons of sugars and nasty additives. Condiments are some of the worst offenders on that front.

I swear had you told me 5 years ago that I’d be making up my own condiments I would have told you, “Girl, shut ‘yo mouth. I ain’t got time for that crazy hippie stuff!”. But alas, here I am preaching the good word that you NEED to make the switch. And I really swear, it’s easy!

Check out the recipe below and tell me otherwise.

Unh, ahh Sweet Potato ...Hash. An oldie but good Unh, ahh Sweet Potato ...Hash. An oldie but goodie. One of my first recipes to ā€œgo viralā€ was this Sweet Potato Hash. With good reason, it’s so freaking good! I made it multiple times a week in the early days of this website and it’s kinda trailed off for no good reason. Time to bring it back. I’m whipping up a batch tomorrow to use through the week, it reheats perfectly. Just make the hash ahead of time and fry an egg to throw on top day of. Recipe at the link in my profile. Double the bath and you’re be good to go on breakfasts for the week. https://www.thewholesmiths.com/bacon-sweet-potato-hash/

As I continue on my Comfort Food 2021 Tour... toni As I continue on my Comfort Food 2021 Tour... tonight’s dinner will be these Tomato Basil Baked Eggs smothered on top of a GF Belgian waffle from @josiesbestgf . Where it started (our first picture together) and Where it started (our first picture together) and (swipe) how it’s going (Thanksgiving this year). šŸ’› Happy 11 years to Brad and I. The road hasn’t always been easy but I am so proud of the life and family we have built together. Not only do I love this guy but I really LIKE HIM TOO. He’s not only my husband but my bestie and a wonderful human (better than me for sure). I never thought I’d say this, but there’s no one else I’d rather be locked down with during a pandemic for 11 months. It’s a good thing we can entertain each other, grow together and while we may bicker at stupid stuff (like Brad’s SHOES LEFT ALL OVER THE HOUSE), we are always, always respectful of each other. If we can survive this year I think we can survive any upcoming alien invasion, zombie apocalypse or... I don’t know what’s left at this point. Sharknados? So very excited for our next chapter. Happy anniversary Bradley. ā¤ļø
I’m going to go ahead and say it, it’s ok to e I’m going to go ahead and say it, it’s ok to eat your feelings. In fact, I’d even venture to say it’s one of the many ways we can experience the benefit and comfort of food. Food has a long history of community, comfort and escape. To deny otherwise is just silly. The problem arises when that ā€œeating your feelingsā€ becomes a habitual escape your your daily feelings. But that’s another post. But just know, it’s ok to find comfort in food. It’s ok to find community and connection in food. It’s ok to have an emotional connection to the food you eat. And it’s ok on a shitty day to let it comfort you. So if today you feel like ordering pizza, that’s ok. Just effing do it. If you’re still looking for something that will feel comforting while nourishing you, this Pumpkin Curry also warms your soul. But honestly, pizza sounds way better. šŸ˜‰ https://www.thewholesmiths.com/pumpkin-curry/
